Hmmmmmmmm??? Selita Ebanks

I'm a little iffy on this one. Love the clean lines, sleek silhouette and the pop of blue highlighting that mega-tiny waist. Not feeling the shoes (or unpolished toesies!) and the bra (satin and a few shades too light make for a not so nude, nude bra). This is a great look waiting to happen, just not sure she pulled it off. What do you think? Speak on it!

Oh Tyra!

This is from the daytime Emmy's this past weekend. I didn't post it sooner, because I had no idea what to say............I still don't. I would love to give some cute, contructive tip on how to fix the little detail which made this awful. But, that little detail is not so little at all. It's more of a complete, all emcompassing flub. Besides looking like a giant bowl of monochromatic oatmeal, she's doing it in a really bad, lace front wig (in an even worse color).

Please don't misunderstand, I LOOOOOOOVVVE me some Tyra "smile with your eyes" Banks! She beautiful, and smart, business savvy and an inspiration to women with "real" bodies. But man if she didn't miss the mark with this one.

Yes, yes.....them. Well they never really went away, but if they had; they'd be back! And our fav accessories hook up Fred Flare, has em' (well, not them, but their brooches, lol). Anywho, the pixel heart brooch that sales on the Dee and Ricky site for $65, is on Fred Flare for $20!!!

Quantities are super limited, so go now. I kinda want two, those are going to make some fly earrings.

Mark Borthwick handled the cam, and there are transparencies and illustrations by Marika Thunder and Rita Ackerman. Chloe modeled and acted as artistic director. She's dope! I <>

"Jew Hating" T-Shirt

It was brought to my attention that L.A. based streetwear line, Freshjive, has come under fire for a few of their more controversial designs. The design at the center of this controversy is below. The image is of three, armed, Palestinian, child soldiers with a stylized version of the word "victimized" underneath.

I rarely discuss my political views on this blog (catch me in person, and you may get an earful), but I had to put you up on this one. Here's the deal; Any child forced to fight or affected by war(regardless of its' premise), is a victim. This design, is in no way, glorifying their role or belittling the opposition. The message behind this design is the advocacy of peace. As a matter of fact, Freshjive also has a design with the Star of David motif and "Peace in the Middle East" message, is that "Palestinian hating"?

Kudos to Freshjive owner and designer Rick Klotz for designing what and how the fuck he wants. You can read his remarks here. Also, BUY THE SHIRT!! I think Urban Outfitters is stocking it now.

SATC, the book

So, I loved SATC. The girls and I snuck dranks into the theatre and proceeded to laugh, cry and curse our way into a lovely evening. I tried desperately to take a mental photograph of every single outfit, but failed (my memory isn't what it used to be). Uggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Yeah well, problem solved. Amy Sohn compiled a book of nearly every outfit (designer info included), quotes from the stylists, and a whole bunch of other fun shit. It's available everywhere, so buy two (one for me), and thank me later.

I am no Amerie hater. Matter of fact, I'm probably one of her biggest fans! Mmmmm, maybe not biggest, but fan nonetheless. But damn, damn, damn, she has been smoking that shit lately, and not in a good "it makes me more creative" way. But more in a "I'm so high, I think I should sit on this red carpet and float into the venue, while I try desparately to wiggle my nose and rub a magic bottle simultaneously" kinda way.

I'm gonna give her a little cred, because I see where she's going..........but this fails miserably.

Valentino bids adieu!

After 45 years as head designer of his name sake fashion house, Valentino is retiring. Known for his signature, fire-red couture gowns, Valentino designs have epitomized class and allure. He, along with Gianni Versace and Giorgio Armani, have redefined fashion and created a virtual theocracy of Italian brilliance.

The Valentino house will live on through the work of his existing design team, and will debut new lines in October and January.
